About $1,000 per teacher per year through the school
A $200 gift card through the district
public- there's a nice size budget for supplies. Our lovely governor, Sonny Perdue, also wanted to be re-elected a couple of years ago, so he gives us $100 gift card. I'll take it, but I won't vote for him!
Public- $175 (actually I get $200, but they put $25 in a "kitty" for things purchased for us)
It varies from year to year, based on enrollment. I think last year I had a little over $200 to spend. The district supplies texts and white copy paper. If I want new novels or colored copy paper, it comes out of my classroom budget or my own pocket.
We can order what supplies we need without going overboard.($100).Then, PTA gives us $50.
wow - that is insane. Do the schools purchase anything at all for classrooms? We manage our own budgets and can purchase anything we want till it's gone!
Do you get to claim what you purchase on tax??
Classroom teachers receive $12.00/student for consumable supplies (paper, pencils, notebooks, glue, paperclips, markers, etc). Non-homeroom teachers (Special Ed, Music, French, etc) receive a department budget to cover all needs. Textbooks, etc. come out of a separate budget. We all receive $50.00 from the parent council.
christian school (PK)- we get $10.00 per student. Parents are given a class supply list for glue, glue sticks, crayon container, dry earase markers, kleenex, paper towels, wipes, soap... we also each have a "wish list". School supplies other basics. We supply the "extras".
We can order construction paper, staples, paper clips and anything WE NEED. We don't order like bullitin board sets or nothing like that. Mine usually adds up to around $60-$70. Then, $50 from PTO.
We get $150 for basics like paper, pens, markers and chalk. Then we get another $300 for anything we would like.
Public - $130 for the entirement Social Studies department. We do get office type supplies and paper.
I truly feel lucky, I teach in a public school and we get $500 per teacher for supplies. I am truly in awe of those of you who make do with anything less.
Public- At the end of the year we get $100 to order from catalog any supplies or materials needed for the next school year.
Since I moved to a new grade level this year, I won't get any money since the teacher in this room last year ordered things with the $100. I sure hope he ordered good stuff.
We get all our supplies (construction paper, pencils, glue, paint, etc.) whenever we need them and we get a $100 gift card at the beginning of each year. It's pretty nice!
