my son has started Pre-K and sings a color song...as my husband takes him to school each day (husband teaches in that school district which is actually in another town...long story), I havent gotten to ask the teacher about the lyrics...so i am trying to hunt them down instead of killing hubby for not asking. Any help will keep husband alive...lol

    Red and Yellow
    Blue and Green
    Orange, Purple Brown

that is where my 4 yr old gets lost

    but it ends with

    Colors all around

and then i think there is a verse

    Red for Stopsign
    Yellow sunshine
    Blue for Sky and Sea

i want to teach a Parenting class on colors and want the song!
    :thanks:

It is on Hap Palmers CD called 'Learning Basic Skills Through Music Vol. 1'. Here are the lyrics:

This is a song about colors, colors you see them all around.
There is red on the stop sign, green on a tree, blue in the sky and sea.
This is a song about color, colors you see them all around.
It's about the happiest song in town. All you have to do is stand up and sit down.
All you have to do is stand up and sit down.

RED stand up, BLUE stand up, YELLOW and GREEN stand up.
RED sit down, BLUE sit down, YELLOW and GREEN sit down.
RED stand up, GREEN stand up, RED and GREEN sit down.
BLUE stand up, YELLOW stand up, BLUE and YELLOW sit down.

This is a song about colors, colors; You see them all around,
There is yellow on bananas and green on a tree, blue in the sky and the sea.

RED stand up, GREEN stand up, YELLOW and BLUE stand up.
RED sit down, RED stand up, YELLOW and GREEN sit down.
BLUE sit down, YELLOW stand up, GREEN and BLUE stand up.
GREEN sit down, BLUE sit down, RED and YELLOW sit down.

This is a song about colors, colors: You see them all around.
It's about the happiest song in town. All you have to do is stand up and sit down.
All you have to do is stand up and sit down. All you have to do is stand up and sit down.

    Sung to: "Eency Weency Spider"

    Orange is a carrot
    Yellow is the sun
    Green is the grass
    Brown's a cookie when it's done
    Purple is a plum and
    Blue is the sky and
Black is the witch's hat and
    Red's a cherry pie.

    Color Song

The part of the song I remember is this:

    (chorus)
This is a song about colors, colors you see them all around.
It's about the happiest song in town, all you have to do is stand up and sit down.

    Red stand up
    Blue stand up
    Yellow and Green stand up
    Blue sit down
    Red sit down
    Yellow and Green sit down

    Repeat chorus
There is red on the stop sign
    Green on the trees
Blue in the sky and the sea

I'm sure not the right song, but Hi-5's Living in a Rainbow:

    I look around
As far as I can see
    The colors of the world
    Are waiting for me

    Blue for the sky
    Green for the trees
    Yellow for the sun
    Orange autumn leaves

If I had to choose one color
    A color just for me
I'd have to take them all
    Take them all you see

And I'd be living in a rainbow (living in a rainbow)
    Colors everywhere (colors everywhere)
Colors all around me (colors all around me)
And no one has a care, colors everywhere
    Let's go!

If I had wings of gold
    I'd fly way up high
    I'd fly through the rainbow
    The colors, the sky

    Flying through the red
    Diving in the blue
    Sliding down the yellow
    To be next to you

If I had to choose one color
    A color just for me
I'd have to take them all
    Take them all you see

And I'll be living in a rainbow (living in a rainbow)
    Colors everywhere (colors everywhere)
Colors all around me (colors all around me)
And no one has a care

And I'll be living in a rainbow (living in a rainbow)
    Colors everywhere (colors everywhere)
Colors all around me (colors all around me)
And no one has a care, colors everywhere
    Let's go

    Living in a rainbow
    Living in a rainbow
    Living in a rainbow
    Living in a rainbow

I dont know if this would be it or not

Ive been lurking for a while and finally found something that I might be able to help with!! If not, thats ok too!;)

    Red (tune:are you sleeping?)]
    R-E-D, Red, R-E-D, Red
I can spell Red, I can spell Red.
Firetrucks are red, stop signs are red, too.
    R-E-D, R-E-D

This is from Frog Street Press. They have all the colors. Red is the one we have done the most and I can remember all the words.

Yellow has something about the early morning sun when the day has just begun and lemonade and scrambled eggs.

Blue something about the big sky is blue and the ocean is too.

After re-reading your post, I bet this isnt it. Your song has all the colors in one song. My preschoolers love these songs. Many are starting to make the transition from the song to writing the color words or recognizing them on other things.

    Good luck finding your song!

    This is the SONG...

I've been looking online for the lyrics to this song because my 4 and 5 year old love it and sing it often, but there is one "mystery word" that isn't a real word and I can't figure it out "ridgers", but I will post it as they sing it,

"Red and yellow, blue and green, orange, purple, brown. Black and pink and gray and white, colors all around.

Red for stoplights, yellow sunshine, blue for sky and sea.
Green for grass and orange for oranges, purple grapes for me.
Brown for "the ridgers?", black for tires, pink for ribbons tied.
Gray for elephants, white for snowflakes, colors on the trolley-rolley ride."

    Colors, colors, everywhere
Some are here, and some are there
    Colors, colors, everywhere
Some are here, and some are there

    Red, red, red
    Red, red, red
    Black, black, black,
    Black, black, black,
    Blue, blue, blue
    Blue, blue, blue
    Brown, brown, brown
    Brown, brown, brown

    When I say "red"
You put your hands on your head.

    When I say "black"
You put your hands on your back.

    When I say "blue"
You put your hands on your shoe.

    When I say "brown"
You turn your head all around.

    Green...

    Pink...

    Purple...

    White...

    When I say "Green"
You wipe your face all clean...

    Yellow...

    Tan...

    Orange...

    Gray...

    When I say "Yellow"...

    Colors, colors, everywhere
Some are here, and some are there
    Colors, colors, everywhere
Some are here, and some are there
