My last name begins with "L" and I wanted to tie it into my news letter such as "Mrs. Michelson's Monthly Minutes".

Can anyone think of one for Mrs. L? :)

    thanks!

I call my newsletter just Mrs. L.......'s Letter. I put a cute picture next to my name and it looks fine.

You know what might be fun to add, Mrs. L_____ Laughs.
Then write some cute comments or situations in class.
I wouldn't add names but it may add a touch of humor.

How about Mrs. Walker's Window and you could border your newletters like a window looking into your class. Each pane could be a different topic.

When I did mine I looked in a thesaurus under newspaper and found lots of words there to help me come up with my "First Grade Frontpage". Maybe it could help you too. There's gobs of words.

All of your ideas are awesome - I'm hoping you can help me with 2 questions --

My last name is Perezsilerio - I start Monday and am thinking about having the kids (2nd and 3rd grade) call me Mrs. Tiara since my last name is so difficult -- what do ya'll think?

Also - whichever I go with I would love help with the newsletter name

I wouldn't have them call you by your first name, even with Mrs. in front of it. Just teach them the pronounciation and 2-3 grade kids will easily pick it up.

I am confused, is your first or middle name Tiara?? The name reminds me of the crown girls wear. I think that if it is part of your name, then that is okay. If "tiara" is NOT part of your name, don't do it. You need to be professional now that you are a teacher. Parents would have a field day with your pretend name. Besides students can learn your name or call you Mrs. P. Good Luck!

    Tiara

Tiara - yes exactly like the crown - is my real first name - I thought about Mrs. "P" - but really thought that could be too much "FUN" for the kids

Thanks for clarifying, I now understand and see what you mean about Mrs. P as well... Still, with "tiarra's" being so popular and related to pagents, I think you need to use your last name, the whole thing. Have students practice your name (break it down for them), they will get it.

FYI- Your principal might not like you using a first name even with a Mrs...

**I too have a difficult last name and with practice the students picked it up quickly and correct people who say it the wrong way!
