What are the classroom ground rules that you have posted in your classroom? I have been reading the importance of ground rules, but no one has said what they have posted in their classroom. In my room we have:

    Participate in work time
    Respect the materials
    Use walking feet
    Respect each other

    Ours are:

    Respect the materials.
    Respect your friends.
Respect people's right to work quietly.
Hands are for loving, gentle touches.

Very simple. I think the hardest part for most people is to give up that feeling of control and let the children do what they need to do within the parameters of the classroom.

For second graders last year I used:
    1. Be kind.
    2. Be safe.
    3. Be productive.
