Well, I got an email back from that P who said I interview well, but they found someone with experience working with students with those needs.

So I know it is not me. So all those teachers that are more qualifed than me around here...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

    STG,
I am with you. I have a stellar record( at least every one who looked at it said so) and I interview well.( They seem very pleased with my answers, even said good answer many times)
I don't have connections strong enough to get me a job. I am disheartened. I am trying hard to pull myself together and move on. I hope they have me on the eligibility list at least.:dizzy:
This wasn't meant to be. I guess...

Emma-I just now saw your post! I agree that connections are a big thing. Have you considered volunteering at schools to network with teachers and principals? I know that you are subbing too right? This is a great way to network too. You could even ask a principal to stop in and observe you teaching a class.

Okay, guys, I had a dream that I got a job!!!! And my first thought was that I needed to come post on this website!!!! Dreams come true! *crossing my fingers for good news*

    STG,
Dreams do come true. It happens when we least expect it.. I came to know that I am on their eligibility list for next year. I will ask the P to come in and observe my class next time. Good idea, STG!
You are always helpful. Hope you find your dream job soon!

Eating many, many tums right now. No word on interview from last week. No rejection letter either. I called the school and left a message. Now the scary part, this district is not hiring subs!! My Emergency UE kicks in next week but I desperately need to find something. I'm feeling the nerves.

Hubby is working part-time now at UPS. I'm still hoping for something, anything.

    Thanks Emma! Yours too.

MAT-No news is good news right? There is still that financial clerk position at the HS which was posted in Sept, they are still reviewing applications. No word on the Reading Specialist position. I REALLY want that position!!!!

Well I didnt even get an interview for the last two positions that I applied for. Thats ok that just means that I wasn't meant for either of those two positions. (faking the bravado) It really irks me when I don't even get an interview. Not sure why I guess it's because I know I can do the job it's just getting someone else to see that. Oh well still subbing.

It looks like I'll be doing Census work this Spring. I'll be getting $15/hour and they are going to pay me every week. That is just too cool. It's work at least especially since I can't even sign-up to sub.

Today is Veteran's Day. To all of our Vets and armed forces, THANK YOU!! You make freedom possible.

My husband applied to do census work, but he hasn't heard anything yet. Anyway, congrats on getting that. It's money coming in.

True that! Some money is better than no money. It's better pay than subbing. It's looking like I'll be full-time because as the woman put it "You have really good organization skills and can talk to people." LOL to me anyways.

Can I have some rum on my husband's behalf? He's been laid off for a month and it's been almost a week since he had a job interview and has heard nothing. Meanwhile, he's downstairs watching court shows while I'm trying to teach from home. I love him dearly, but I'm about to throw him out of the house from 9-3! Something needs to give, especially since we cannot live on my first year charter school teacher salary, so I'm definitely with you in that way.:dizzy:

:hugs: cat. I will definitely pass the rum your way if I haven't drank it all by now. :) I know how you feel. My hubby was laid off for a while too. He just got a new job a few weeks ago so at least that's money coming in. I have three days of subbing planned for the rest of the week, and will hopefully get more while I am there and that will be money coming in.

1000 bottles of rum on the wall, 1000 bottles of rum, take one down pass it around.....

No news still from that school. It's been a week so I'm cutting my losses on that one. On a positive, 2 Third-grade positions have been posted and that's my grade!! I think I will contact my old P and see if he can possibly put in a word for me.
