Calendar Time

    I like the idea of using the number of days in school instead of the number of the month. That way we can discuss numbers higher than 31. Smart!

    As least for the first week of school, I'm going to stick with the beginning numbers of the hundreds chart because we are going to be looking for the patterns that we see. After the first two weeks, I'm just going to randomly pick numbers.

    Lots of great ideas for morning meeting/calendar time activities! One thing that I do along with my daily count is have the students show that number with the least number of coins and then write it using money notation. (e.g. when the day is #47, they would write it as both 47(cent sign) and $0.47)
