Lynn Gardner’s math was great. I passed above the needed score. Please advise on any helpful books for reading and writing portions of Praxis Core or any helpful hints. Thank you.

Welcome to A to Z, JMMM! Your thread has been moved to the Basic Skills Tests subforum: if you look around, you'll find plenty of threads that discuss Praxis Core exams and others that discuss other states' similar tests. You'll see some suggestions in there.

LearningExpress publishes a Skill Builder series that might suit you: Reading Comprehension Success in 20 Minutes a Day is good for what it advertises and also makes connections to the real world; Writing Skills Success in 20 Minutes a Day works well for help with grammar and mechanics; and Write Better Essays in 20 Minutes a Day, while designed for longer essays than most basic-skills tests envision, nevertheless gives highly practical advice on structuring and supporting an essay that argues a thesis. Most big bookstores carry these books, which are fairly reasonably priced; they've also been in print long enough, and gone through enough editions, to be available used online or to be in the collection of most community libraries.
