My husband's aunt is turning eighty next month. The family is planning a party; we live several hours away and when I offered to help, I was expecting just a request for money. Instead, I have been asked to provide party favors for 100-150 people!

I need help, and fast! This is a big Irish Catholic family, if that helps. Obviously I need to keep the cost reasonable, and I need to be able to transport them to the party.

Any ideas? I don't mind doing some work but I haven't come up with any cute ideas yet.

    Thanks! :)

You can make photo holders from Binder clips and scrapbook paper...then clip in cute photos of auntie thru the years.

One cheap idea: go to vistaprint and make up commemorative birthday business card magnets.

Is there a theme or even color scheme at all?

I've never even heard of favors for an adult's birthday like this! Just weddings and things like sponsored parties. There are lots of inexpensive personalized wedding/shower favors out there, maybe some of them could work for a birthday? The cost usually goes down when you're buying a large number of them.

I haven't heard of favors for an adult party either. I wonder if someone is doing table centerpieces...I think time could be better spent on those which highlight the woman's life. :)

What about a donation to a charity?? You could print out a nice card telling the guets about it and place one at each table setting?

No theme, green and white colors. For some reason this aunt (who is about my favorite person in the world) just wants to give everyone a little something.

Thanks for all the great ideas so far!

Could you do like a little candy bag, like they do at weddings? What about cookies? Could you have a bakery do something simple with like 80 on the cookie or something.

I was going to say Chocolate bars like Alice said!

My friends husband turned 40 and it was a baseball theme...I got boxes of cracker jax and big league chew and personalized them with a picture of him on the front and changed the nutrition info on the back like they do with the candy bars.

For a 1st birthday we got those big round flat lollipos and put the baby's pic on the front with the date and info and then incorporated them into the centerpiece as well.

Do you have access to a color printer? How are you with Publisher?

Does she have a favorite candy or snack? YOu can make your own custom label for virtually anything.

I LOVED this favor too...though it wouldn't quite work in your situation...my friends daughters birthday is Earth Day so she gave every one a plant and printed a label that said thank you for celebrating Daughter's 1st B"earth"day! It was so cute!

Plants are a good idea bc they double as the centerpiece...but too hard to travel

Can you do little clear bags with 100 green and white M&Ms or skittles or something, with a cute little note attached with her picture? It wouldn't take too awfully long if you got a system down.

Well, here is what we came up with. We bought the adorable squatty 8ounce Ball jars. We are filling them with green and white M & M's. On the inside of the lid we are placing a copy of the Irish blessing with a Celtic knot superimposed on it. On the outside of the lid we are putting her picture with "Happy Birthday and her name" around the top and her birthdate around the bottom of the pic.we are tying white and green ribbons around
    the lid.

We spent most of Sat running to stores to find enough Ball jars. Next week-end we will set up an assembly line to put it all together.

Hope they turn out as cute as we hope!

Love it, and love that you are putting her picture on it! That makes it so much more special!
