I'm not a pe teacher but am ordering playground balls for first and second graders. Does anyone have any clues as to the best brand or type of balls to order. I am clueless. I want basic playground balls, a football, basketball, soccer ball and football. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but the title of this thread made me literally laugh out loud.

Glad I'm not the only one laughing--I have obviously spent far too much time with my Grade 8 boys!

Sorry to be absolutely no help with your search!

Funny story: Years ago I went to a chiropractor who was also a family friend. He was on a world champ. Hoover ball team. It's kinda like volleyball, only with a very heavy ball, and you catch and throw it. The trophies in his office were big and held a Hoover ball. I took my grandson with me once when he was about a year old, and was trying to get him to show off his growing vocab. to the doc and his asst. I knew he could say "ball" but he wouldn't. So I pointed to the trophies holding the big Hoover balls, and said, "Dr. Ed has big balls, doesn't he?" It took me about 5 seconds to figure out why the doc. and asst. were cracking up!

I thought I would get a better response than say a thread entitled; 'pe recommendations' or 'teacher needs help'.

    'Do teachers prefer
    small balls or big balls
    soft balls or hard balls,
in a box or with a fox?'

Seriously, I want to know what type of balls to order. You have leather, foam, double ply, poly-something. It's a big decision. Their isn't a PE teacher here who has an opinion on balls? ok, now I can't take myself seriously.

OK, so should I be the one to mention the color of the best balls? Not blue...

Yah, but I know I wasn't the only one thinking it!

OK, to redeem myself with some advice...um...honestly, I order the cheapest ones from our supplier...most of ours end up on the roof!
