Closed third day in a row tomorrow. While I worry about getting behind in plans, I am totally enjoying these unexpected days off.

Our frigid weather continues--we are open and our buses are running. I have been missing close to a third of my class the past two days and expect the same today.

We had Tuesday and Wednesday off. We went back 2 hours late today, but the air temp was still -35 when I got to school at 9:15 this morning. We are up to -18 now.

DH and I both have been off the past two days. Technically he hasn’t missed any days because they have non-traditional days. He has to be available to kids via email during school hours, and the kids do work online. Hopefully we will be back to work tomorrow.

I did get the house cleaned and some crafting done.

Just got the call we're closed tomorrow too due to buses not running after the freezing temps of the last couple days.
    5 day weekend!

Well, I'm off again today. DH did have to work. I'm going to work for a bit and feed my fish and co-worker's fish. Otherwise, I'm going to play housewife today.

...and we're off again today. This time it is an ice storm. I just had a contractor stop by my house to finish up some work. He said the roads are terrible!

We don't have snow days but more kids are missing school lately because of some bug going around. I had to stay home one day last week because I think I had a minor case of whatever they had! I really hate when people send their kids to school SICK and then we end up getting sick. I can't wait until this "sickness" season is over!!

Our buses were cancelled today because of a forecast ice storm. Things haven't really gotten started yet, so most of our students are here. Driving home today could be a bit dicey if we do get the freezing rain for several hours and tomorrow morning could be an adventure.

Tomorrow is our third snow day in three weeks. I'm ok with it just because I can catch up on sleep, but I'm starting to worry I won't be able to go to a conference I was looking forward to if we have to make up snow days at the end of the year...

We will have our 5th weather-related day in the past two weeks because we are off tomorrow. I’ll get to break in my new snowblower!

We have had our 2nd 2 hour late this week today. Last week we had 2 snow days and a 2 hour late start. We might have a normal week at some point this spring!?!?! LOL

I grew up in the mountains of the northeast. We had to stand and wait for buses in below 0 temperatures. I don't envy any of you and nothing could get me to move back to that type of climate. Everyone, just stay warm and safe!

what happens if you end up having 15 days of school closure? Would the school stay in session that long to make up those days? (that's 3 weeks into the summer)

We can miss 10+ days before we drop below the state-required number of student contact hours.

We only have to make up 5 days. After that, the rest are considered "Act of God" days and they don't need to be made up

We were just informed today that teachers will have to for sure make up any days missed, but students won't have to come back after Memorial Day unless it is for a minimum of 3 days. We had 2 days off 2 weeks ago that our governor said he will deduct from minimum time requirements if it comes to that, but final decision on whether they get made up is at the discretion of our school board. We already have a day added (supposed to be a day off) in March from when we cancelled due to a crazy amount of kids with influenza and strep.

I am so glad I don’t have to make up any days missed at my school, as we are private. And I’m looking to my up-and-coming 4-day weekend in honor of President’s Day. :D
